Your company has chosen to hire you through Remote as its Employer of Record (EOR)! As your legal employer, Remote handles contracts, payroll, benefits, and other important employment-related matters on behalf of the company you work for. Below are the details of your Remote benefits plan.

Remote Benefits Plans

The below coverage is for your plan for the current plan year. This plan was chosen by your company and is facilitated through Remote as the Employer of Record. Your employer extends coverage to your family, allowing you to include your spouse/partner and your children in the plan free of charge.

Remote has partnered with Kota, for benefits enrollment and Allianz as our benefits provider for global health coverage. You will have 30 days to enroll after your start date with Remote (enrollment information is outlined below).

Potential Tax Implication: In some countries, health insurance benefits are considered 'Benefits in Kind' (BIK). This categorization means the monthly premiums paid by the company for your coverage might be part of your taxable income as per local laws. Verify if this applies in your country.

Key Note on Tax: If this benefit is considered a BIK in your country, your taxes will be calculated based on the monthly premium of your benefit. It's important to understand that the monthly premium is the basis for tax calculation, not the tax amount itself.

Outpatient Coverage: $5,060

  • Deductible: $100
  • Health Screenings & Vaccinations: $500 covered
  • Diagnostic Tests: 100% refund
  • Hormone Replacement Therapy: 100% refund
  • Chiropractic: $600 covered
  • Psychiatry & Psychotherapy (with referral from doctor): Max 10 visits
  • Prescription Drugs: $1,350 covered (prescription deliveries available)

Inpatient Coverage:

  • Cashless experience for emergency room visits, surgeries, etc.
  • Hospital Accommodations: Private room
  • Intensive Care: 100%
  • Surgical Fees: 100% refund
  • Local Ambulance: 100% refund
  • CT & MRI Scans: 100% refund
  • Emergency Dental: 100% refund
  • Prescription Drugs: 100% refund (Prescription deliveries available)
  • Routine Maternity: $6,000 covered with 20% co-pay
  • Pregnancy & Childbirth Complications: $13,500 covered with 20% co-pay
  • Gender Dysphoria benefit: 25K
  • Fertility Treatment: $25k per lifetime
  • Treatment for alcohol and drug addiction: $5k limit

  • All claims paid within 10 days of service.
  • Travel Coverage: Health coverage extends globally (USA covered only for medical emergencies whilst traveling)
  • Employee Assistance Programs: Multilingual mental health, legal, and financial counseling is available
  • over the phone, video chat, or face-to-face for members and their family. Access to wellness website and fitness app is also available.
  • 24/7 Member Support: In English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. Interpreters are also available to help in additional languages.

Family Coverage:


You have the option to include your family in the plan, with coverage paid by your employer. There is no limit on the number of children that you can add to the plan.

Enrollment & Usage Information

For new hires:
From your start date, you will have access to all your benefits information through the Remote platform. Once you log in, navigate to the Benefits tab on the right hand side, where you can view all the benefits offered to you by your employer.

Once you have logged in and accessed the Benefits section, make sure to review the detailed information about the benefits available to you. In this section, you will find a dedicated area with links under “Your Benefits Management Platform.” Click on the Kota link to review your options and make any changes to your benefits within the 30-day enrollment window.

Important exception: If you are hired in Spain or Switzerland, your benefits enrollment will not take place via Kota. Shortly after your enrollment as a new hire, you will receive an email invitation from BEN (noreply@thanksben.com), Remote's benefits platform. This email will go to your personal email address. Create your account using the email address provided in your invitation email and create your password. Through the BEN platform, you’ll be able to opt in or out of benefits and add your dependents within 30 days as part of your enrollment process.

For renewal enrolments:

This section applies to existing employees hired before May 1, 2026 who are offered this benefit for the May 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027 policy year. If you’re a new hire after May 1, 2026, please refer to the section above.

Open enrolment for the new policy year (May 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027) will run from April 6 to April 19, 2026. For employees based in Spain, open enrolment ends on April 16, 2026.

  • If you’re currently enrolled: You’ll continue to be enrolled in the updated policy if you take no action. If you no longer want this benefit, you must opt-out via the Kota link, accessible through the Benefit Hub on your Remote profile. If you are based in Spain, you need to opt-out via ThanksBen by April 16.
  • If you’re being offered the benefit for the first time: You must opt-in and add your dependents by April 19 via the Kota link, in the Benefit Hub. If you are based in Spain, you need to opt-in via ThanksBen by April 16.
  • If you previously waived the benefit: You will remain opted-out unless you choose to opt-in by April 19 via the Kota link in the Benefit Hub. If you are based in Spain, you can opt-in by April 16, via ThanksBen.

Once you click on the Kota link, you will be redirected to Kota’s enrollment platform. You will then have the option to add dependents (children and/or spouse) at no additional cost. Once you have completed this process, you will receive an email from Allianz (the benefits provider) within a week, however your insurance will be active starting the day you join Remote.

You will have 30 days from your Remote start date to enroll in benefits and/or add dependents to your policy. If you wish to opt out of a benefit, simply click the “Opt-out” button and confirm your changes within the specified enrollment window accessed through the Kota link. If the button is not visible, the opt-out window has likely closed and will reopen during the next renewal period. Once the window has closed, you will not be able to opt out or make changes to your policy until the next renewal window in May.
