Pension

The pension plan includes life, disability, waiver of premiums, and workplace accident insurance.

The employer pays all the contributions below and no contributions are required from you:

  • 10% on pensionable salary up to 30x the Income Base Amount (IBA)
  • No contributions are payable on pensionable salary above 30x the IBA.
  • The IBA for 2026 is 83,400 SEK

Enrollment & Usage Information

Do I need to enroll?

When granted with the benefit, you will be automatically enrolled in Pension by Remote team. Once enrolled, you will receive a Welcome Email from MaxM with details about your insured benefits and the next steps.

When is the start date of the contributions ?

  • Start date of contributions will be the 1st of the hiring month. For instance, an employee starting on January 5th, will start contributing on January 1st.

When is the end date of the contributions ?

  • Termination date of Pension: When a leaver falls in the middle of the month, contributions will be paid for the whole month. No pro-rata. For instance, an employee leaving on January 15th will stop contributing on January 31st.

Additional Voluntary contributions (AVC):

If you wish, you can add additional voluntary contributions

Is there any tax saving when contributing voluntarily?

By participating in the AVC program, you will receive a 5.76% lower customer tax benefit. This means that your employer will pay a special employer's contribution, which is approximately 5.76% lower than the usual contribution. As a result, your pension savings will be increased.

The employee's salary exchange will be increased by 5.76% because of the difference between security contribution (31,42%) and tax on salary exchange (24,26%).

Are there Limits on Contributions?

It's important to note that if your salary falls below the limit for the statutory pension (8.07 income base amount), it may not be beneficial for you to participate in the AVC program. Therefore, you will be able to participate on the AVC only if your salary exceeds the stated limit. Additionally, please be aware that after the salary exchange, your salary cannot be reduced to less than SEK 56,087 per month in 2026 to ensure you do not lose payments to the state pension system.

Is there a minimum contribution?

To participate in the AVC program, a minimum monthly contribution of 1,000 SEK is required. You have the flexibility to contribute more if you wish.

When can I start contributing towards AVC? Is there any window?

Employees are now eligible to start making voluntary contributions.

Employees will be able to start contributing:

  1. At onboarding stage:
    1. New hires will have the opportunity to join the scheme during the first 30 days after the start date and in the November window mentioned below each year.
    2. As a salary exchange is for future premiums only the exchange starts the following month after the advisory meeting is held.
So, if the joining month is March 2025 but the advisory meeting is held in late April the salary exchange can be starting in May.
  2. November window each year:
    1. However, if you choose not to do so at this time, you will have another opportunity in November of each year.
Once you have selected your AVC no changes can be made until November next. Nonetheless, if you wish to terminate contributions you can do that at any time.

How do I opt in for voluntary contributions? What are the timelines?

If you would like to participate on the salary exchange, you need to contact Max Matthiessen at [email protected] and book a meeting with an advisor from MaxM. After the meeting MaxM will send the signed agreement to Remote.

This is the company's signal to deduct the amount from the salary. Once the onboarding deadline has passed, the window for changes and enrollments will be open in November each year.

Please write ”Salary Exchange Remote” in the subject line in the email.
