Understanding Hiring in India
  1. As of 2020, it is required by law for employers in India to offer supplemental health insurance to their workforce. Although the country has a public health system, it is known to not offer the best quality of care. It is important for employees in India to have private health insurance to get the care they need. Our plans also offer global coverage (excluding the US) to protect your employees when they are traveling outside their home country. 
  2. According to Remote's Global Benefits Report, the most essential benefits for workers in India are sick leave (79%) and annual bonuses (78%). Download the report to find out more.
  3. Everyone employed by Remote in India must have access to core benefits as part of their basic compensation package.
  4. You will be able to select a benefits plan when onboarding your employee. From there, the employee will be enrolled and contacted with more information about their plan. Remote takes care of all the administration work so you can focus on scaling your global team!
