Remote’s Benefits Practices

Remote supports our clients by offering competitive benefits packages that will help you attract and retain the best talent across the globe! Our benefits specialists have done the research on norms and requirements in each local market and have crafted packages that will allow your employees to thrive, no matter what country they live in.

Our core benefits (which often include things like healthcare) are required in most countries where we hire. Because Remote is the employer of record, it’s important for us to offer the same core benefits to all employees in a country to ensure fair equity and non-discriminatory hiring practices, which protects your business and ours. We do not add a markup on any benefits premiums or administration costs.

Understanding Hiring in France
  1. The healthcare system in France encompasses a robust, high-quality system with both public and private hospitals and specialists. Every resident in France has access to universal healthcare and the healthcare system is even very accessible for foreigners in the country after three months of residence (through the PUMA system). All residents must have some kind of health insurance by law (public or private). Doctors in France are not allowed to charge patients up-front for care and instead receive payment directly from the insurance provider or the government.
  2. Although France has a robust public health system, supplemental health insurance provides employees with access to a wider range of options for providers and specialists, as well as significantly shorter wait times. Our plans also offer global coverage (excluding the US) to protect your employees when they are traveling outside their home country.
  3. Everyone employed by Remote in France must have access to core benefits as part of their basic compensation package.
  4. You will see benefits options for France when onboarding your employee. From there, the employee will be enrolled and contacted with more information about their plan. Remote takes care of all the administration work so you can focus on scaling your global team!
