ABOUT THE TEAM

The Media Consulting and Activation (MCA) team is a passionate 250+ person group with one goal, to deliver digital solutions that move the needle for our client’s business while providing Raving Fan service. Through a combination of SMEs in the areas of ad operations, analytics, media planning/buying, programmatic, search, social and strategy development, the services team has their pulse at the forefront of what’s happening across the digital landscape. This team develops bespoke solutions designed to help clients maximize their budgets and achieve their KPIs. Working closely with the client development team (sales), a primary focus of the services team is to win, grow, and retain business among a diverse portfolio of clients. The services team is responsible for stewarding $500M+ in paid digital media annually. The team has an exciting and collaborative working dynamic that amplifies Basis' winning culture.

WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE

This role will be part of a team of strategists with a diverse set of skills across consulting, media & investment strategy, marketing strategy, consumer insights, and innovation. The team acts as a strategic engine within the Media Consulting and Activation organization, driving business outcomes for our clients through consultative support, thought leadership, and strategic enablement. You'll be responsible for bringing a creative and strategic mindset, a sharp POV, and a passion for solving client business challenges. You must have curiosity and enthusiasm for immersing yourself in strategic intelligence and know how to combine this with audience insights that produce actionable strategies. Key responsibilities include:

Partner with client teams to develop strategic recommendations rooted in data and insights that drive business outcomes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed strategic rigor into internal workstreams and deliverables.
Maintain and share your POV based on the macro trends shaping our clients’ businesses and the broader trends impacting media strategy and consumer behaviors.
Develop strategic resources, best practices and programs to elevate strategic thinking across the Media Consulting and Activation organization.
Support new business opportunities by developing strategic narratives and crafting insight-driven recommendations.
Stay informed on emerging industry trends, platform updates, and technological advancements.
Bring a high level of creativity, curiosity, and passion for learning to every opportunity.
Contribute to internal and external thought leadership through articles, reports and presentations.
Identify opportunities to evolve our approach to strategy through new methodologies and tools.
Be brave enough to challenge a convention, while also being understanding of business realities.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with media planning, strategic planning, communications planning, or similar functions that bridge an understanding of marketing, media, and consumer insight.
Familiary with media planning and consumer insight tools like GWI, MRI, Mintel, WARC, NMI, and Comscore.
Experience developing insights from advanced media measurement solutions including brand lift studies, sales lift studies, marketing mix models, and attention measurement.
Experience developing strategy for both digital and traditional media with an understanding of how channels complement one another.
Strong ability to collaborate and partner with a multi-functional team to guide a high standard of work with favorable outcomes.
Prior experience influencing and partnering with senior-level clients, becoming engrained in their business, and acting as a consultant.
Business acumen and persuasive presentation (writing and presenting) skills required to speak to all levels within a client organization.
Successful new business conversion across various sizes and categories of clients
Proven track record of new and interesting thinking.

Thoughtful approach to collaboration, design, and decision-making that prioritizes equity, access, and continuous learning.
Willingness to actively contribute to and be part of Basis’s culture.
Ability to travel up to 25%.

BONUS POINTS

Experience working with clients on multicultural media plans and/or working with clients in pharmaceutical or political verticals.
Familiarity with leveraging CRM, first party, and commerce data for audience insight and targeting is preferred.
Mentorship and oversight of strategic talent.
