Job title: Finance Analyst (Startup, AI & International Focus)
Location: Remote in Portugal
Type: Professional Internship (+Talento IEFP Program)
Level: Junior (0 to 3 years)

Most finance internships in Portugal are an education in one spreadsheet. You reconcile the same accounts for six months, you never see how the number got there, and nobody tells you why it matters. This is not that. BRIDGE IN is bootstrapped and profitable, which means every euro has to make sense to somebody, and often that somebody will be you. You will work on the real close, the real forecast, the real models, and the real numbers that decide what we do next, across three countries and a client base spread over 35+ countries. If you want to learn how a business actually works rather than learning where the cells are, read on.

One more thing. Finance at BRIDGE IN is not done the old way. AI and automation take care of the copying, matching, and chasing, which means your time goes toward analysis, judgment, and telling people things they did not already know. If you want an early look at what a finance function looks like when it is built with modern tools from the start, this is a rare seat at that table.

🌍 Why BRIDGE IN?

We are a bootstrapped, profitable, remote-first company on a mission to make international bureaucracy disappear. We simplify payroll, accounting, legal, and compliance operations for foreign companies expanding into Portugal, Spain, and Italy. Our clients range from high-growth startups to publicly listed companies and unicorns. We are one of the fastest-growing startups in Southern Europe, and we are still accelerating.

This role exists because we run finance for three countries and a growing client base with a small team, and we want someone who will grow into real ownership of it.

🚀 What You'll Be Working

Supporting the monthly and quarterly close, then building the reporting packs that show how Portugal, Spain, and Italy are actually performing;
Owning recurring reporting over time, including KPI dashboards, cash position, and revenue by market;
Working on the forecast and the annual budget: helping build them, then tracking actuals against plan and explaining the variances;
Digging into financial data to spot trends, margin leaks, and anomalies, then bringing them to management in plain language;
Working alongside our accounting team to keep us compliant with local financial regulations and with our own internal policies;
Preparing documentation and reports for audits, due diligence, and client-facing financial requests, with guidance at first and increasing autonomy over time.

💡 Who You Are

You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management, or a related field;
Based in Portugal, under 35 years of age, and eligible for the +Talento IEFP program;
You are fluent in Portuguese and English, written and spoken, and can explain a number to someone who is not a finance person;
You are genuinely comfortable in Google Sheets: lookups, pivots, clean model structure, and formulas someone else can follow up;
You are rigorous. You tie things out, you check twice, and you would rather flag a discrepancy early than have it surface in a client meeting;
You do not need someone to follow up with you twice. You manage your own workload;
You are comfortable with ambiguity and can make reasonable judgment calls;
You see AI and automation as tools that make your work sharper and faster, not as threats;
Bonus points for international experience, personal or professional, and for any familiarity with Portuguese, Spanish, or Italian financial and tax rules.

🌱 What We Offer

We are not hiring for a temporary slot. This internship is structured to convert into a full-time contract for the right person, and that is the plan from day one.

Compensation structured around the +Talento IEFP grant, adjusted upward based on experience and profile;
Variable bonus aligned with business results;
Fully remote setup with flexibility on hours, built around outcomes not attendance;
Direct exposure to multi-country finance, accounting, and startup operations from your first week;
A merit-based environment where your track record speaks louder than your title or tenure;
Colleagues who will challenge you, and a client base that will stretch your thinking.

What Happens Next

We don't do corporate black holes. This is a real, open role, and not a ghost job to harvest resumes. Here is the general roadmap: start with a quick application form. If we're aligned, we'll send over a self-evaluation survey, followed by human-to-human interviews and a hands-on challenge so you can show, not just tell, what you can do. We're a startup, so the exact steps might iterate, but we guarantee three things: we (try to) move fast, we are radically transparent, and we will never waste your time.
