Developer Relations Lead

Zenrows is the web data infrastructure for AI. Founded in 2021, we give developers, AI agents and businesses one reliable way to access, extract and structure data from any website, at any scale, however hard the site tries to block them.

Whether it’s an agent that needs fresh web context mid-task, an LLM application grounded in live data, or an enterprise pipeline pulling millions of pages a day, Zenrows handles the rendering, the anti-bot defences and the parsing behind a single API, 10B+ requests a month. Teams at more than 10,000 companies, including Microsoft, Amazon, Dell, IBM, Slack, eBay, EY, Nokia and Clay, rely on Zenrows to turn the web into a reliable source of data for their products, workflows and AI-driven applications, across e-commerce, finance, real estate and AI.

As we continue our rapid expansion, we are now looking for our first Developer Relations Engineer to join us on a permanent basis, make an instant impact and build our DevRel function from the ground up.

The Role

Nobody has ever done this job at Zenrows and that’s the exciting part! You’ll be our founding DevRel, which means there’s no playbook or legacy processes to inherit, and nobody telling you how it should be done. You get a blank canvas, real ownership and the freedom to build and scale the function from scratch the way you think it should be built.

What You’ll do

Working alongside our GTM team, you’ll combine your technical advocacy and community skills to build credibility and help developers discover, experiment with, and integrate Zenrows. Ultimately adoption is the goal and success will be measured on that. We want Zenrows to be a name everyone recognises.

As the face of Zenrows, you’ll be out there in the real world. You’ll give talks, run technical workshops, and collaborate with relevant developer communities. You’ll also own our hackathon programme. Which ones we sponsor, where we speak, and being there on the day, talking to the people building cool things with our tools.
Engaging with the online community is equally as important. When you’re back at your desk, you’ll drive discussions where developers already hang out, such as Reddit, X and Discord. You’ll create videos, demo content, templates and sample apps, plus open-source projects, GitHub contributions, starter kits and developer integrations. You’ll show developers what’s possible with Zenrows and get them experimenting.
This role is as much about listening as it is about telling. Taking what you’ve learned, you’ll also handle the feedback loop between the community and the product and engineering teams.
Zenrows already integrates with hundreds of tools that developers love. Our goal is simple and ambitious: make Zenrows part of every agentic developer’s stack.

What We’re Looking For

Nobody is equally brilliant at everything. We’ll lean into your strengths and grow the function from there.

You’re technical, first and foremost. You don’t need to be a hard core developer but you can write Python, JavaScript or similar. You’re comfortable with APIs/SDK, AI agents and can build demos, apps and integrations with the product yourself.
You’ve got demonstrable technical and community-building experience. You’re confident on camera and the stage, and have a public body of work you’re proud of. We’d love to see your videos, talks, demos, repos or posts.
You have a track record of running events, talks or community initiatives. We want someone whose passion is clear and is active in AI/agent developer ecosystems such as GitHub, Reddit, Discord, Hacker News, Stack Overflow.
You’ve built developer ecosystems, open-source initiatives or technical communities from scratch, and you know how to get noticed without a big brand or logo behind you.
You measure success in impact, not just reach. You’re driven by API integrations, open-source adoption, and community engagement converting into active customers
Being the only person in the function excites you rather than scares you! In the end, this is yours to own and you’ll need to be comfortable making big decisions and running with them.
You’re a skilled technical writer. Documentation is mainly owned by engineering but you’ll also be expected to contribute in time

Bonus points if:

You already have an audience of your own. Perhaps a newsletter, a YouTube channel or a strong following on X.
You've done real web scraping and can talk about proxies, browser automation and anti-bots.
You’ve organised a hackathon (or won one!).

Why You Will Love Working Here

Our people crave ownership and opportunity over everything else. We offer responsibility and scope to do things in your role that you can only dream of in similar roles in larger companies.
We have a CEO who values world class talent over everything else. Trust and respect is earned and with it comes reward and recognition like nowhere else.
In a world where it feels like everyone is being called back being in an office, we operate a truly 100% remote approach that allows you to work from anywhere you choose.
Forget Agile, Scrum, Lean... or whatever development methodology is trendy this week. We give you a horizontal view that enables you to identify where you think you can contribute the most.
We have fun! The above may sound like we are all about work but we put a lot of focus on ensuring our culture is one that our people enjoy, lets you build lasting friendships and grow both personally and professionally.

Why You Might Not Fit

We are a small yet efficient team of 20, and our competitors are 10x our size. We manage to outperform them because everyone takes ownership of their work, holds themselves accountable and focuses on delivering meaningful outcomes. If you’re just looking for a job rather than a mission then you probably shouldn’t apply.
We are an agentic company, and agents are an essential part of how every team works. If you aren’t excited to build, delegate to and take ownership of AI agents in your day to day, then you probably shouldn’t apply.
We work 100% remotely and give our people the freedom to work wherever they choose. To offset this there is naturally more need to document and update workflows than in other companies. If you hate documenting then you probably shouldn’t apply.
Feedback is how we better ourselves every day and we foster a culture that encourages everyone to have a voice. If you don’t like being surrounded by world class talent that will always express strong opinions then you probably shouldn’t apply
We are a start-up and know the growth journey holds plenty of lessons to learn. If you are looking for the perfect organization, flawless processes and predictability in your day to day then you probably shouldn’t apply.
