About the Role: 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced VP of Business Operations and Project Management Office (PMO). This role is a pivotal role at Abacus Insights that is responsible for leading and optimizing Abacus operations, ensuring successful execution of delivery of client projects, and driving overall operational excellence in a highly efficient and cost effective manner. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payer healthcare operations, business operations, project management, and process optimization, with a proven track record of driving efficiency and delivering results. This role requires a leader who is strategic, analytical, is a proven problem solver, and is adept at managing cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:

Develop and implement business operations strategies that align with the company's vision and goals.
Lead the Project Management Office, establishing standardized best practices, processes, and standards to ensure project success.

2. Operational Excellence:

Optimize and streamline operational processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive initiatives to improve business performance.

3. Project Management:

Oversee the management of client delivery and internal projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Foster a culture of accountability and collaboration across project teams, promoting effective communication and stakeholder engagement.

4. Team Leadership:

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing US and international business operations and PMO team, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering professional growth and development.

5. Client Focus:

Partner closely with Account Executive team and Client Data Engineering team to ensure successful delivery of client projects, where success equates to on-time and on-budget while delivering real business value.
Provide cross-domain leadership to drive continual improvement in how we deliver for our clients.

6. Stakeholder Management:

Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align project priorities and business objectives.
Act as a key liaison between operational functions, facilitating communication and decision-making to support organizational goals.

7. Performance Metrics and Analysis:

Create a data / insights driven operating model by developing and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track the success of business operations and project initiatives.
Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to leadership.

What we’re looking for:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in business operations, project management, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
PMP and Agile certification and real-life examples of successful application of expertise.
Demonstrated expertise in process improvement, strategic planning, and change management.
Deep understanding of healthcare payer operations, previous experience at a healthcare payer is preferred.
Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience leading and developing high-performing international teams.
Proven track record of successful project delivery and managing complex, cross-functional initiatives.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market data, extract insights, and translate them into actionable plans.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
