The Marketing Assistant will play a key role in promoting Autumn House Press's books, authors, and brand. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, be proficient in social media and marketing software, and have a passion for literature and social justice. The Marketing Assistant will work closely with the Marketing Director to develop and implement marketing campaigns, manage social media presence, and coordinate events and promotions.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns for new book releases, including social media, email marketing, and advertising
Manage and maintain Autumn House Press's social media presence, including creating and scheduling posts, responding to comments and messages, and analyzing engagement metrics
Coordinate events, such as book launches, readings, and festivals, including logistics, promotions, and follow-up
Assist in the creation and distribution of marketing materials, including press releases, book trailers, and promotional videos
Maintain and update the Autumn House Press website, including adding new content, updating events, and ensuring website security and backups
Assist in the management of email marketing campaigns, including creating and sending newsletters, promotional emails, and automated email sequences
Analyze and report on marketing metrics, including website traffic, social media engagement, and email open rates
Assist in the development and maintenance of relationships with authors, reviewers, and other stakeholders
Perform other marketing-related tasks as assigned by the Marketing Director

Requirements:

1-2 years of experience in marketing, preferably in the publishing industry
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
Proficiency in social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn
Experience with marketing software, including email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp) and social media scheduling tools (e.g. Hootsuite)
Familiarity with website management, including content management systems (e.g. WordPress) and website analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Passion for literature and social justice
