Delmic is changing the world with diverse microscopy solutions and powerful software packages. As we solidify our expansion into China and grow our market share, we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic (Chinese speaking) Sales Engineer to join our team and drive sales of electron microscopes and accessories to academic institutions, research laboratories, and industry partners in the Chinese market. 

Please note that for this specific role we are looking for someone based in China and we are not able to provide for any visas or residency/work permit.

Your role 

A Sales Engineer at Delmic B.V. is responsible for promoting and selling high-tech microscopy equipment and accessories to a variety of customers, including academic institutions, research laboratories, and industry partners. This role involves a deep understanding of the technical features and capabilities of the products, as well as the ability to translate this knowledge into compelling sales pitches and demonstrations.

In this position, you will be responsible for nurturing an existing sales pipeline in addition to discovering and developing new sales opportunities. From the standpoint of sales, your primary responsibility will be to take necessary actions to ensure success for both Delmic’s Life Science and Material Science division in cooperation with our distribution partners or directly as needed in China. 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with key decision makers and key opinion leaders within target market

  • Determine the needs of current and future customers with a keen attention on microscopy trends

  • Prospect and discover new sales opportunities in the electron microscopy field

  • Qualify and nurture leads, perform monthly pipeline reviews

  • Understand the needs and pain points of potential customers, and tailor product demonstrations and sales pitches accordingly

  • Serve as a technical expert on the features and capabilities of the products, and be able to clearly articulate the benefits to potential customers

  • Respond to technical inquiries and requests for proposals in a timely and thorough manner

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across different geos, including product management and marketing, to develop and execute successful sales strategies

  • Achieve or exceed sales targets and quotas 

  • Provide guidance to sales leadership and segment leadership about expanding Delmic's presence in China

Qualifications:

  • Masters or PhD in a scientific or technical field, such as physics, biochemistry, or engineering

  • Technical understanding of microscopes and accessories

  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills in English (C2) and Mandarin (C2)

  • Ability to work remotely and on your own (no Delmic office on location)

  • Self-starter with a proactive and results-driven approach to sales

  • Ability to travel as needed to visit customers and attend industry events

Experience in the following areas will be looked upon favorably:

  • Additional languages: Japanese or Korean

  • Background in materials science and/or life sciences

  • Experience in direct prospecting

  • Experience in sales 

  • Experience in technical conference planning

  • Experience in technical workshop hosting

What we offer:  

  • A salary range between 300,000 - 450,000 yuan annually based on fulltime working hours (40 hours)
