The IPRs are transferred directly from the Remote local entity that provides employment services to you, the customer, under our Terms of Service. There are no intra-group transfers. Because we establish and control our employing legal entities in every country where we operate, there is no need to rely on third parties for IP matters.

As the Employer of Record (EOR), we accept full responsibility for the transfer and provide an indemnity to protect you should anything go wrong.

Am I guaranteed to receive my IPRs?

Yes. Clients are guaranteed to receive the IPRs acquired from the employee under the Terms of Service signed by both parties. This forms a material part of Remote’s obligations.

Can you provide a written assurance that Remote IP Guard works?

Yes. We hold a letter from an external law firm that we can provide to clients on request.

Have you ever had cases when Remote IP Guard failed?

No. There are no reports of Remote IP Guard having failed.

Does the IP Guard have any adverse effect on me as a client of Remote?

No. Because clients are covered by Remote IP Guard and guaranteed to receive their IPRs, there are no adverse effects. This is one of the advantages of partnering with a professional EOR company.

The IPRs are assigned or transferred from the Employee(s) to the Remote local entity in accordance with: (a) local law — because IP produced in the course of employment commonly vests automatically with the legal employer; and (b) Remote’s thoroughly drafted IP documentation, signed by the employee and the Remote local entity. These documents are prepared and regularly reviewed by qualified lawyers in the employee’s country and you can access them directly through our platform.
