Intellectual property rights (IPRs) rank among a company’s most valuable assets. When team members are distributed across different countries, securing ownership of IPRs becomes more complex. Remote IP Guard employs a clear two-stage method to deliver strong protection and secure ownership for our clients. The process is fully transparent, allowing you to follow the chain of IP transfer from the employee(s) to your organisation.
The IPRs are assigned or transferred from the Employee(s) to the Remote local entity pursuant to: (a) local law – because IP created in the course of employment generally vests automatically in the legal employer; and (b) Remote’s detailed IP documentation, which is signed by both the employee and the Remote local entity. These documents are prepared and regularly reviewed by qualified lawyers in the employee’s jurisdiction, and you can always access them directly via our platform.
The IPRs are assigned or transferred from the Remote local entity, which provides employment services, directly to you, the customer, under our Terms of Service. There are no intra-group transfers. We establish and control our employing legal entities in every country where we operate, so there is no reliance on third parties for IP matters.
As the Employer of Record (EOR), we assume full responsibility for the transfer and provide an indemnity to protect you should any issue arise.
