The IPRs are assigned or transferred from the Remote local entity that provides employment services directly to you, the customer, under our Terms of Service. We do not rely on intra-group transfers. Because we establish and control the employing legal entities in every country where we operate, there is no dependence on third parties for IP matters.

As the Employer of Record (EOR), we accept full responsibility for the transfer and provide an indemnity to protect you should any issues arise.

Am I guaranteed to receive my IPRs?

Yes. Clients are guaranteed to receive IPRs obtained from the employee under the Terms of Service signed by both parties. This forms a material part of Remote’s obligations.

Can you provide written assurance that Remote IP Guard works?

Yes. We have a letter from an external law firm that can be provided to clients upon request.

Have there ever been cases when Remote IP Guard failed?

No. There has never been any reported failure of Remote IP Guard.

Does the IP Guard have any adverse effect on me as a client of Remote?

No. Since clients are covered by Remote IP Guard and are guaranteed to receive their IPRs, there are no adverse effects. This is a key benefit of partnering with a professional EOR company.

The IPRs are assigned or transferred from the Employee(s) to the Remote local entity pursuant to: (a) local law – since IP created in the course of employment commonly vests automatically in the legal employer; and (b) Remote’s carefully drafted IP agreements, which are signed by the employee and the Remote local entity. These documents are prepared and periodically reviewed by qualified lawyers in the employee’s jurisdiction, and you can always access them directly through our platform.
