The IPRs are assigned or transferred from the Remote local entity, which provides employment services, directly to you, the customer, under our Terms of Service. There are no intra-group transfers. Please note we have established and control the employing legal entities in every country where we operate, so there is no reliance on third parties for IP matters.

As the Employer of Record (EOR), we accept responsibility for the transfer and provide an indemnity to protect you should any issues arise.

Am I guaranteed to receive my IPRs?

Yes. Clients are guaranteed to receive the IPRs obtained from the employee via the Terms of Service signed by both parties. This is a material part of Remote’s obligation.

Can you provide a written assurance that Remote IP Guard works?

Yes. We hold a letter from an external law firm that can be provided to clients on request.

Have you ever had cases when Remote IP Guard failed?

No. There has never been any report of Remote IP Guard failing.

Does the IP Guard have any adverse effect on me as a client of Remote?

No, because clients are covered by Remote IP Guard and are guaranteed to receive their IPRs, there are no adverse effects. This is one of the benefits of partnering with a professional EOR company.

The IPRs are assigned or transferred from the Employee(s) to the Remote local entity in accordance with: (a) local law — since IP created in the course of employment commonly vests automatically in the legal employer; and (b) Remote’s carefully drafted IP documentation, which is signed by the employee and the Remote local entity. Qualified lawyers in the employee’s country produce and periodically review this documentation, and you can always access these records directly on our platform.
