We recognise that intellectual property rights (IPRs) rank among your organisation’s most valuable assets. When staff operate remotely across multiple countries, establishing clear ownership of IPRs can be complex. Remote IP Guard employs a secure, two-stage process to provide clients with robust protection and unequivocal ownership. The procedure is fully transparent, enabling you to follow the chain of IP transfer from the employee(s) to your organisation.
The IPRs are assigned or transferred from the Employee(s) to the Remote local entity pursuant to: (a) local law – as IP created during employment commonly vests automatically in the legal employer; and (b) Remote’s thoroughly drafted IP documentation, signed by both the employee and the Remote local entity. These documents are prepared and periodically reviewed by qualified lawyers in the employee’s country, and you can access them directly via our platform.
The IPRs are assigned or transferred from the Remote local entity, which provides employment services, directly to you, the customer, under our Terms of Service. There are no intra-group transfers. Please note that we have established and control our employing legal entities in every country where we operate, so you are not dependent on third parties for IP matters.
As the Employer of Record (EOR), we accept full responsibility for the transfer and provide an indemnity to protect you should any issues arise.
