The European Union has invoked the Temporary Protection Directive to extend protection to Ukrainians. Twenty-seven EU member states have agreed to issue residence permits valid for 1 year, with automatic extension for an additional year. This directive gives Ukrainian citizens greater choice over where they live, work and settle.
The Remote for Refugees programme is available to assist Ukrainians and anyone displaced by this conflict. If you intend to hire Ukrainian refugees remotely, Remote can deliver Employer of Record services to help you recruit and onboard refugee talent at specially reduced rates.

We are pleased to showcase some of the excellent organisations providing resources for refugees, including training, job placement and advocacy. Only through collective effort can we extend opportunity to everyone, regardless of their current location or journey.

Global companies expand with Remote
Join the customers who rely on Remote to transform their business.
We have collaborated with governments and organisations that provide refugee support to develop joint solutions that directly assist refugees in rebuilding their lives. This effort is especially urgent given the large numbers displaced from Afghanistan, Syria and other conflict-affected nations. As a company that facilitates global employment, we consider it our ethical duty to help refugees regain stability through dignified work.
We proudly support employers who hire refugee talent and have simplified access by offering a substantial discount on Employer of Record (EOR) services. This enables any refugee who is legally permitted to work in a country where we operate an entity to be onboarded through our platform at a reduced cost. In addition to supporting refugee employment, we also highlight organisations that assist employers in finding refugee talent.
You can begin by creating your Remote account right away - get started here! Mention the promo code: RFR15OFF in the promo field.
When you onboard an employee, you will need to confirm eligibility by providing documents that verify the employee’s refugee status and valid right to work or work permit(s) in their host country.
The 15% discount applies to annual credit billing only and expires 12 months after acceptance of our terms of service.
This discount is available to any company that uses Remote to hire refugee talent. Employers must present documentation proving the employees’ refugee status and valid right to work or work permit(s) in their host country, which must be different from their home country or prior country of residence.
The Remote for Refugees promotion will remain open until 31 December 2026 for companies and employees that qualify; at that point, Remote reserves the right to end, modify or extend this promotion under the same or revised terms.
The 15% discount is applicable to all employees hired by an eligible company via Remote’s EOR service for a period of 12 months from acceptance of our terms of service.
Provided the refugee holds a legal right-to-work (for example, a work permit), we can employ them in any country where we maintain an entity. Check our country explorer for a current list of countries. If you are a refugee and uncertain about your right-to-work, we strongly advise consulting your resettlement representative or the relevant local authority.
No, this offer cannot be combined with other Remote offers.
The Remote for Refugee rate is intended for employers wishing to hire refugee talent. If you are a refugee, we recommend applying via refugee-specific job boards or engaging with refugee recruitment agencies. If you are in discussions with an employer, you may inform them of this offering or note it on your CV. Please note you must possess the right to work or a work permit in your host country to be employed through Remote.
