IPRs are then transferred from the Remote local entity that provides employment services directly to you, the customer, under our Terms of Service. No intra-group transfers are involved. We have established—and continue to control—our employing legal entities in every country where we operate, so you do not need to rely on third parties for IP matters.

As the Employer of Record (EOR), we accept responsibility for the transfer and provide an indemnity to protect you should any issue arise.

Am I guaranteed to receive the IPRs?

Yes. Clients are guaranteed to receive the IPRs obtained from the employee under the Terms of Service signed by both parties. This is a material part of Remote’s obligation.

Can you provide written assurance that Remote IP Guard is effective?

Yes. We hold a letter from an external law firm that can be supplied to clients on request.

Has Remote IP Guard ever failed?

No. There has never been any report of Remote IP Guard failing.

Does the IP Guard have any adverse effect on me as a client of Remote?

No. Because clients are covered by Remote IP Guard and guaranteed to receive their IPRs, there are no adverse effects. This is one of the benefits of partnering with a professional EOR company.

IPRs are assigned or transferred from the Employee(s) to the Remote local entity in two ways: (a) under local law — since IP created during employment commonly vests automatically in the legal employer; and (b) under Remote’s detailed IP agreements, which the employee and the Remote local entity both sign. Those documents are prepared and periodically reviewed by qualified lawyers in the employee’s country, and you can access them directly on our platform.
