What’s new at Remote so far in 2021?

After raising a $35 million Series A round last year, Remote has seen its growth and global impact increase exponentially. With a larger team, availability in several new countries, improvements to our suite of global employment products, and many wonderful new customers, we are making great progress in our mission to democratize access to global talent.

New growth across the globe

So far in 2021, Remote has achieved a number of significant milestones.

To begin, we have multiplied our customer base more than six times since November, and we continue to welcome record numbers of new customers each month. Those customers are spread all over the world, with availability of our fully integrated global employment solutions now extending to more than 40 countries, with contractor payments in more than 170.

Some of the new regions we have opened this year include Germany, Hong Kong, Brazil, Argentina, and Singapore. With this progress, we are well on our way to reaching our goal to open our unique employment services in 80 countries by the end of the year.

In addition to new customers and countries, we have also added a number of new faces to our team. Some of those critical leaders include Nadia Vatalidis, our head of people, along with James Ramsay and Jeremy Watson, who have taken on leadership roles in product development. Remote has also added many new key hires in engineering, operations, finance, marketing, sales, and people functions. Today, our team stretches across dozens of countries and six continents.

We set aggressive growth targets ahead of our last round of funding. Today, we have either eclipsed those goals or are outpacing the ambitious expectations we set for ourselves. Credit for this progress belongs to our team and the values they uphold: kindness, ownership, transparency, excellence, and ambition.
