About the remote influencer report
Each year we release an updated report showcasing the top 150 remote influencers. Whether you’re new to remote work, simply curious, or have been doing it for years, this resource points you to today’s leading thought leaders in remote work. To keep it practical, we’ve added resources these people have helped create, links to their social profiles, and icons that show if they’re speakers or published authors. We hope it sparks ideas, uncovers opportunities and keeps you curious!
Who are the biggest remote work influencers in 2024?
The report highlights outstanding leaders who provide truly transformative ideas for anyone after top-tier remote work leadership. We divide the report into three influencer types: Remote Innovators, Enablers, and Accelerators.
These influencers help sustain remote work and are worth following to build a more connected remote working future.
- Innovators are those who paved the way for remote work
- Enablers are those who make remote work possible today
- Accelerators are the ones who influence what our working world will look like in the future
What makes the remote influencer report unique?
At the centre of this report are people committed to reshaping the workplace. We examined how they’ve driven the shift toward more flexible work and how they continue to push for change. Some have founded companies that are essential to effective remote working by offering tools or training; others focus their efforts on promoting a remote-first world through every channel available.
Those featured in our report are passionate advocates for remote work. They’re doing the groundwork to inspire and support others, continually learning and improving while sharing approaches and tools that empower remote working.
How the report is compiled
Each year we review past Remote Influencer Reports to identify which previous nominees still have a major impact on remote work. We also consider nominations of remote work advocates gathered throughout the year from our global community.
From there we compile a list of 225 influencers, applying the following criteria to judge whether someone qualifies for our list:
To finalise the list, our expert panel of judges reviews influencers in each category (innovators, enablers or accelerators) and votes based on their experience and knowledge. That process produces the top 150 individuals leading the remote work movement, with 50 in each category.
- Are they advocating for remote and flexible working practices?
- Are they actively driving change or influencing others?
- Do they show innovation or disruptive thinking?
- Do they offer practical, accessible advice and guidance?
