Remote's Employer of Record and Contractor Management just went live on the Workday Marketplace as a Workday Certified Integration.

The workaround: two systems, one hire

For an HR team running on Workday and growing into a new country, hiring someone internationally can mean working in two systems at once. They'd open the role in Workday like any other hire, then retype that same profile, start date, and compensation into a separate portal to get the person onto payroll in a country where the company had no legal entity. Every manual handoff was a place a field could drift out of sync, a status could get missed, or an audit could turn up two records that disagreed with each other.

That gap is what is now closed. Remote's Employer of Record and Contractor Management are now live on the Workday Marketplace as a Workday Certified Integration.

Why certification matters

Workday didn't become the system of record for some of the world's most complex organizations by taking shortcuts. Integrations that touch Workday HCM go through a certification process built around the same rigor Workday holds itself to: data flows, security, and functionality, tested before it becomes available to customers. Clearing it means the same level of analysis Workday applies to the integrations it builds itself. It's also the signal customers look for from Workday Innovation Partners, proof the two systems will actually work together the way they're supposed to.

What changes for Workday customers

Double data entry is now gone. A Workday customer opening a role where they have no legal entity approves the hire in Workday, and the new employee's profile, start date, and compensation sync straight to Remote. Approved time off follows the same path into Remote, straight from Workday. Once synced, those fields stay locked on the employee's record, so nothing falls out of sync by accident.

Remote connects into Workday HCM and runs the employment relationship underneath it: the local contract, payroll, and in-country compliance work, wherever the hire happens to be. It's a certified integration, built to meet Workday customers exactly where they already are.

"Companies expanding internationally used to need a patchwork of tools and providers to hire and pay their teams. This made global hiring more complicated than it needed to be and exposed organizations to risks," said Job van der Voort, co-founder and CEO of Remote. "Remote's integration with Workday helps simplify global hiring, offering businesses both a centralized system of record and integrated local execution, helping them efficiently move into new markets."

What this unlocks

Celebrations are in order for the Workday customers who no longer have to stitch together separate systems to hire internationally. The integration eliminates duplicate data entry and manual handoffs between Workday and Remote, keeps Workday as the single system of record, and gives them a compliant path to hire and pay people in new markets without setting up local entities. If your organization runs on Workday, this is already available to you, go check it out on the Workday Marketplace.
