The European Union has invoked the Temporary Protection Directive to extend safeguards to Ukrainians. Twenty-seven EU member states have agreed to issue residence permits to Ukrainian nationals for one year, with automatic extension for a further year. That directive gives Ukrainians the freedom to decide where they live, work and integrate.

The need is urgent, with millions displaced from Afghanistan, Syria and other conflict-affected countries. As a business that enables global employment, we consider it our responsibility to assist refugees to regain stability through dignified work.
We support employers hiring refugee talent and have made this easier by offering a substantial discount on Employer of Record (EOR) services. That means any refugee who is legally authorised to work in a country where we operate an entity can be onboarded via our platform at a reduced cost. In addition to facilitating employment, we highlight organisations that can help employers locate refugee candidates.

When you onboard an employee, you will be asked to confirm eligibility by submitting documentation that proves the employee’s refugee status and legal right to work or valid work permit(s) in their host country.
The 15% discount is valid on annual credit billing only and expires 12 months after acceptance of our terms of service.
This discount applies to any company using Remote to hire refugee talent. The employer must provide documentation confirming the employee’s refugee status and lawful right to work or valid work permit(s) in the host country, which must differ from their home country or previous country of residence.
The Remote for Refugees promotion will remain open until31 December 2026for companies and employees that qualify; at that point, Remote reserves the right to end, alter, or extend this promotion under the same or revised terms.
The 15% discount applies to all employees hired by an eligible company through Remote’s EOR service for a period of 12 months from acceptance of our terms of service.
Provided the refugee has the legal right to work (for example, a valid work permit), we can employ them in any country where we maintain an entity. If you are a refugee and uncertain about your right to work, we strongly advise speaking with your resettlement representative or local authority.
