A Contractor of Record is a third party that becomes the legal counterparty to an independent contractor — handling the contract, compliance, invoicing and payments — rather than you engaging them directly. When Remote serves as your COR, we assume the classification risk* and the administrative burden, so your team need not become specialists in local contractor legislation.
An Employer of Record (EOR) is appropriate for individuals who should legally be employees. Remote hires those individuals on your behalf, managing payroll, benefits and full employment protections. A Contractor of Record is intended for bona fide independent contractor arrangements. Remote becomes the legal engager of the contractor rather than their employer, so there is no payroll or benefits — only compliant engagement, payments and protection against misclassification.
Contractor of Record starts at £260 per contractor per month, which includes direct engagement, background checks, and uncapped indemnity against misclassification*. A 15% of invoice rate is also available depending on your setup.
