In Brazil, employers are required to provide monthly meal vouchers to employees. Remote ensures compliance by paying the meal voucher amount directly into the employee’s Flash cards by the 30th of each month.
When onboarding a new hire, Remote offers the Standard, Premium, and Prestige options of meal vouchers, which offer different amounts. It is important to note that w hat is offered to employees in Brazil will apply to all existing and future employees hired in the country.
Provides a monthly meal voucher amount of BRL 660 (~USD 133), which equates to a daily rate of R$30 (~USD 6) for meal expenses.

In Brazil, providing life insurance to employees is a mandatory benefit as stipulated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Offering this benefit not only complies with legal requirements but also provides essential financial protection for employees and their families.
Current Life Insurance Offering
Remote currently offers a life insurance package that includes a death benefit of BRL 50,000, coverage for total or partial permanent disability due to an accident at BRL 50,000, and family funeral assistance up to BRL 5,000. These amounts are estimates and may be adjusted based on the number of employees covered throughout the year.
New Coverage Options Effective December 1, 2024:
To better meet the diverse needs of our employees and align with common market practices in Brazil, Remote will introduce new life insurance tiers effective December 1, 2024. These new options will provide coverage based on multiples of the employee's salary, offering greater flexibility and enhanced protection.
