In a co-employment arrangement, employer duties are shared between you and Remote. Remote can operate U.S. payroll, file taxes, administer benefits and manage workers' compensation. You retain hiring and dismissal authority, day-to-day oversight and HR strategy. Your employees remain on your entity's payroll records.
Remote PEO is €91 per employee per month. That is the administration fee. Healthcare premiums, workers' compensation, and state unemployment costs are billed separately at cost rather than bundled in, so you can see what you’re paying for each.
All 50 states, excluding U.S. territories. This includes the monopolistic workers' compensation states — Ohio, North Dakota, Washington and Wyoming — where Remote supports the registration. You can check employment requirements by state before you hire.
Because a PEO is a shared model, you relinquish some direct control over payroll and benefits administration and must undertake additional work when exiting the arrangement — such as notice periods, reclaiming state accounts, maintaining COBRA continuity and arranging the 401(k). A PEO is best suited to companies that already have a U.S. entity and are growing headcount. If you do not yet have a U.S. entity, an employer of record is a better fit.
No. Benefits are provided via the PEO's pooled plans, which allow smaller teams access to plan options and pricing they could not secure independently. Remote handles benefits administration from enrolment through changes and renewals. The trade-off is that your current broker relationship ends when you join.
