Accident & Disability
In India, Accident and Disability Insurance is included as part of any health insurance package offered by Remote. This comprehensive coverage ensures that employees are protected against unforeseen accidents and disabilities. The insurance provides a sum insured of ₹5,000,000 ($60,240) per employee, covering accidental death, permanent and partial disabilities, medical expenses, and more. Additional benefits include allowances for children’s education, transportation of mortal remains, and compassionate visits. This ensures that employees and their families are supported during difficult times.-
Coverage Details
Note that the Accident and Disability Insurance is included as part of any of the Health Insurance package offered in India.
- Sum Insured: ₹5,000,000 ($60,240) per employee
- Age Group: 18 - 65 years
- Accidental Death: Up to 100% of sum insured
- Medical Expenses: Covered up to 40% of death/disability claim or 10% of sum insured or actual expenses, whichever is lower
- Permanent Total Disability: Up to 100% of sum insured
- Permanent Partial Disability: Up to 100% of sum insured
- Temporary Total Disability/Loss of Income: Up to 3% of sum insured or ₹20,000 ($240) per week or actual weekly pay, whichever is lower
- Carriage of Dead Body: 2% of sum insured, subject to a maximum of ₹10,000 ($120)
- Children Education Welfare: For two dependent children in case of death of employee - up to ₹10,000 ($120) per child
- Terrorism: Covered except for events arising out of nuclear, biological, and/or chemical means
- Fracture Cover: Accidental broken bones covered up to ₹50,000 ($600) or actual expenses, whichever is lower
- Burns Cover: Accidental burns covered up to ₹50,000 ($600) or actual expenses, whichever is lower
- Transportation of Mortal Remains: Repatriation covered up to ₹25,000 ($300) or actual expenses, whichever is lower
- Compassionate Visit: Transportation allowance up to ₹25,000 ($300) or actual expenses, whichever is lower
- Road Ambulance Charges: Covered up to ₹5,000 ($60) or actual expenses, whichever is lower
