What You Bring

  • Payroll Expertise:
    • Proven experience in managing multi-country Global Payroll, with a strong understanding of payroll tax principles, social security contributions, and wage laws across multiple countries.
    • Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, or similar)
    • Demonstrated ability to read, and interpret Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs)
  • Client-Centric Approach:
    • Proven experience in client-facing roles supporting high-touch Enterprise accounts, with a track record of handling escalations and inquiries with exceptional customer service.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Ability to analyze payslips, detect discrepancies, reconcile payroll data, and research complex issues using various research tools.
  • Adaptability:
    • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adjust swiftly to changing priorities across different jurisdictions.
  • Communication:
    • Strong verbal and written skills in English; additional European languages are a plus. Proficient in using support tools (E.g. Zendesk) and Google Sheets.
  • Team Player:
    • A collaborative mindset with experience working alongside cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure smooth, compliant payroll operations.
  • Analytical Mindset:
    • Excellent research, organizational, and process documentation skills with an ability to optimize workflows and implement process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support & Client Consultation:
    • Act as the first line of support for complex multi-country global payroll inquiries
    • Offer expert advice on navigating differences in payroll practices and tax considerations across various countries.
  • Escalation & Collaboration:
    • Work with internal teams to resolve complex payroll issues, ensuring clear communication of status and resolutions to clients.
  • Client Communication & Proactive Outreach:
    • Collaborate closely with CSMs to deliver proactive updates and best-practice guidance, ensuring a unified, high-quality client experience.
    • Proactively update your assigned client group and contribute to creating or enhancing training resources that reduce escalations and improve team knowledge.

At first glance our salary bands seem quite wide - here is some context. At Remote we have international operations and a globally distributed workforce. We use geo ranges to consider geographic pay differentials as part of our global compensation strategy to remain competitive in various markets while we hiring globally.

The base salary range for this full-time position is between USD 24,000 to USD 53,950. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.
