When the company began to scale and hire new team members in different countries, managing payroll across borders became a growing challenge.

 

The challenge: six countries, six systems, too many inefficiencies

Before switching to Remote, iChoosr used a separate accounting or payroll provider in each country where it had employees. Providers across the UK, Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, US & Japan each did things their own way. They each had different processes, reporting formats, and data workflows, resulting in a fragmented payroll operation that caused delays and introduced unnecessary risk.

“We were juggling six different payroll providers, and it just wasn’t scalable,” says Sophie Kamphuis, Chief People & Culture at iChoosr. “We spent nearly 10 hours a month on payroll tasks, entering changes multiple times across systems.”

The lack of integration also raised concerns around data security, especially when confidential information was shared across email. And with so many touchpoints, it was hard to maintain accuracy.
