How Remote is helping displaced Ukrainian citizens
The European Union has activated the Temporary Protection Directive to grant protection for Ukrainians. 27 EU member states have agreed to grant Ukrainian citizens with residence permits for a period of 1 year, automatically extended for a further year. This directive gives Ukrainians the right to choose where they want to live, work and belong.

This work is more urgent than ever, with millions of people being displaced from Afghanistan, Syria, and other war-torn countries. As a company that enables global employment opportunities, we feel it is our moral responsibility to help refugees get back on their feet through dignified employment.
We proudly support employers who hire refugee talent, and have made it even easier by providing a significant discount on employer on record (EOR) services. This means any refugee talent who is legally eligible to work in a country where we have an entity can be onboarded via our platform at lower cost to you. As well as supporting the employment of refugee talent, we highlight the organisations that exist to help employers locate refugee talent.

When you onboard an employee, you’ll be asked to confirm your eligibility by providing documentation proving the employees’ refugee status and proper right to work or work permit(s) in their host country.
The 15% discount is valid on annual credit billing only and expires 12 months after acceptance of our terms of service.
This discount is valid for any company that uses Remote to hire refugee talent. The employer must show documentation proving the employees’ refugee status and proper right to work or work permit(s) in their host country, which must be different from their home country or previous country of residence.
The Remote for Refugees promotion will remain open until December 31, 2026 for companies and employees that qualify; at that time, Remote reserves the right to end, change, or extend this promotion with the same or new terms.
The 15% discount is valid for all employees hired by an eligible company via Remote’s EOR service for a period of 12 months from acceptance of our terms of service.
As long as the refugee has the legal right-to-work (i.e. work permit), we can employ them in any country where we have an entity. Check our country explorer for our live countries. If you are a refugee and you’re unsure if you have the right-to-work, we strongly recommend discussing your situation with your resettlement representative or local authority.

The Remote for Refugee rate is for employers who are wanting to hire refugee talent. If you are a refugee, we highly encourage applying for roles through refugee-specific job boards or discussing your candidacy with various refugee recruitment agencies. If you’re in conversation with an employer, you can also let them know about this offer, or add a note in your CV. To reiterate, you will need to have the right to work or work permit in your host country to be hired via Remote.
