Every feature we launched this year solved a problem our customers told us about.
Whether it was simplifying onboarding, improving payroll accuracy, or giving teams a better way to manage people data, everything we built in 2025 was shaped by real challenges shared by companies scaling around the world.
As we wrap up the year, we’re looking back with a sense of gratitude and momentum. Here’s a closer look at what we released, why it mattered, and how your feedback guided every step.
A year shaped by your challenges
Across 2025, the Remote product team focused on listening to what global teams struggle with, and build solutions that make those problems smaller, simpler, or disappear entirely.
Recruit: “We need a better way to find talent anywhere.”
Hiring across borders became a growing priority for many teams this year. Recruit was built to give you a smarter, globally aware way to source talent without juggling disconnected tools.
“Our customers kept telling us they were hiring globally, but their workflows were still local,” one PM shared. “Recruit connects those dots.”
PEO: “Multi-state employment feels impossible to manage.”
For U.S.-based teams expanding into new states, compliance and onboarding complexity were constant pain points. PEO was designed to bring clarity and structure to the process. With built-in rules, automated workflows, and a streamlined experience, teams finally had a way to grow confidently.
Contractor of record: “We need to scale contractors without compliance risk.”
Many customers leaned on global contractor programs, but lacked protection or clear oversight. Contractor of record was built to solve that.
“This came directly from customer conversations,” one designer noted. “They wanted speed, but they didn’t want to compromise on safety.”
Surveys: “We want to understand our teams without another heavy tool.”
A lightweight way to measure engagement was one of the most common requests. Surveys brought simple, built-in sentiment measurement to the Remote platform, helping leaders understand what their teams needed most.
Perform: “Performance cycles feel messy and disconnected.”
Distributed teams often lack structure around feedback. Perform introduced a clean, intuitive workflow that supports meaningful performance conversations.
One customer told us: “We didn’t need a huge system. We just needed something that fits the way global teams actually work.”

HRIS: “We need all our people data in one place.”
HRIS was built to answer one of the biggest challenges customers raised: too many tools and too little visibility. With a centralized hub for people data and processes, teams finally have a single place to manage their workforce.
Payroll’s best year yet: Built on your feedback
As more teams scaled payroll across countries, they needed deeper clarity, stronger automation, and tools built for higher volumes and that’s what we delivered.
- Payroll cycles ran faster and reconciliation became more intelligent, reducing manual checks and giving teams clearer real-time visibility.
- Reporting took a leap forward with accessible GL reports, payroll cost reports, and variance reporting that made it easy to understand changes immediately.
- Statutory payments were automated and brought directly into the platform, removing one of the most time-consuming and often confusing parts of payroll processing.
- Onboarding and document workflows also saw big improvements: Bulk uploader simplified everything from onboarding to expenses to document management, allowing teams to operate at higher volume with less effort.
One payroll customer summed up the year perfectly: “We can see what’s happening, when it’s happening, and what we need to do next. It finally feels manageable.”
A new Workday partnership: Solving a long-standing data pain
Many teams rely on Workday as their internal source of truth, yet managing global employment required manual data syncs and duplicate work. Our new Workday partnership solved that.
Now, customers can keep data aligned effortlessly across systems, ensuring accuracy and reducing administrative overhead. This integration came from one theme we heard repeatedly: “Please help us eliminate the back-and-forth.”
Thank you for building with us
Everything we shipped this year came from your questions, your feedback, and your trust.
You told us where the friction was.
You shared what slowed you down.
You showed us how global work is evolving.
And we built with you, not just for you.
Looking ahead to 2026
Next year is already taking shape, and we’re excited to bring even more of your requests to life. We’re currently building:
- A learning management system (LMS)
- Compensation management tools
- A new applicant tracking system (ATS)
These additions will make Remote an even more complete platform for managing the entire employee journey.
Thank you for being part of this year’s momentum. We can’t wait to show you what’s next.
