When onboarding a new hire in Ireland, Remote offers the Local Standard and Local Premium plans.

The Local Standard plan provides extensive inpatient and outpatient coverage, including semi-private hospital rooms, emergency in-patient treatment abroad, psychiatric treatment, minor injury clinic cover, routine and non-routine dental treatments, vision coverage, and additional benefits like laser treatments and mental health support. The Local Premium plan enhances these benefits with more extensive outpatient services, additional dental and vision care, and higher coverage limits for various treatments.

New Benefit Available January 1, 2025:

Starting January 2025, we will be introducing two new health plans with expanding options to include family and dental coverage.

The Local Health Guide 2 plan provides extensive inpatient and outpatient coverage, including semi-private hospital rooms, emergency in-patient treatment abroad, psychiatric treatment, minor injury clinic cover, routine and non-routine dental treatments, vision coverage, and additional benefits like laser treatments and mental health support. The Local Health Guide 3 plan enhances these benefits with more extensive outpatient services, additional dental and vision care, and higher coverage limits for various treatments.

Retirement & Pension

Remote offers a voluntary Defined Contribution (DC) pension scheme for employees. This scheme provides flexibility for employers to support their employees’ retirement savings through matching contributions.

Eligibility:

The pension scheme is voluntary for employers. However, once an employer opts in, it becomes mandatory for all eligible employees in that country. We’re excited to announce that starting January 1st 2025, we’ll be offering two new alternatives that will enable the employer to contribute above the employee’s contribution.

Employer Contribution Options:

Employers can choose from the following contribution levels:

  • Match 1%: You match the employee's contribution into the plan, up to 1% of the employee's pay.

  • Match 3%: You match the employee's contribution into the plan, up to 3% of the employee's pay.

  • Match 5%: You match the employee's contribution into the plan, up to 5% of the employee's pay. (recommended as market practice)

  • Top-up 3% (new): You match the employee's contribution up to 5% and add an extra 3%. For example, if an employee contributes the maximum of 5%, the total employer contribution would be 8% (5% matched + 3% additional), totaling a 13% combined contribution.

  • Top-Up 5% (new): You match the employee's contribution up to 5% and add an extra 5%. So, if an employee contributes the maximum of 5%, the total employer contribution would be 10% (5% matched + 5% additional), totaling a 15% combined contribution.

Employee Contributions:

Employees can contribute an amount up to the employer’s matching or maximum contribution level. If employees wish to contribute more than the matching limit, they can do so via Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs).

Pension Management:

Employees can manage their contributions and track fund performance through an online platform, providing real-time insights into their retirement savings.

Tax Benefits:

Both employer and employee contributions are eligible for tax relief, subject to specific limits based on the employee’s age and pay.

Offering mental health benefits is not mandatory in this country, but providing the benefit can significantly enhance the emotional well-being and overall productivity of employees.

That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of a new Life Insurance plan, effective January 2025. This plan will offer the option to choose coverage of either 2x or 4x an employee’s annual pay.

Life Insurance Package Overview:

  • Bereavement Support: Available to the spouse/partner and adult dependent children (ages 18-21) of a deceased team member. Includes 6-8 bereavement counselling sessions with experienced therapists. Sessions can be accessed online or in person, free of charge.
