Employing in Philippines

Minimum Wage

The minimum wage in the Philippines for workers in the private sector is PHP 695.00 per day effective July 18, 2025, which equals to a monthly wage of PHP 15,290.

Payroll Cycle

For customers of Remote, all employee payments will be made in two equal instalments each month, on the 15th and the last working day of each calendar month, payable in arrears.

In the Philippines, the 13th-month pay is a mandatory statutory benefit equivalent to an extra month's pay, paid out at the end of November each year for Remote Philippines. If the employee leaves the employment before the end of November, eligible employees are entitled to receive the pro-rated 13th-month pay with the final pay. All rank-and-file employees who have worked for at least one month within the current calendar year are eligible, and it is calculated as one-twelfth of their total annual basic pay. Employees who quit, were fired, or were separated from their individual firms are still entitled to their 13th-month pay, as long as they worked for at least a month. The 13th-month pay is generally not taxable, except for amounts exceeding PHP 90,000, which are subject to tax.

Onboarding

We can help you get a new employee started in the Philippines fast.

Our team ensures your employees are onboarded and paid as quickly as possible while keeping your business compliant with all local employment legislation. The minimum onboarding time begins after the employee submits all required information onto the Remote platform. The onboarding timeline is also dependent upon registration with local authorities.

For all non-nationals of the country of employment, the Right to Work assessment (if applicable) will add three extra days to the total time to onboard. There may be extra time required if we need to follow-up on the right to work assessment.

Please note, payroll cut-off dates can impact the actual first day of employment. Remote has a payroll cut-off date of the 10th of the month unless otherwise specified.
